When you worry it is because you are not being present. The only thing you have that is for sure, is now. The past is gone and the future hasn’t happened yet.
When you are flowing with the present moment, and it is in constant flow, you are co-creating with the universe. You are like a leaf flowing down a steady river where joy and peace exist.
When you get stuck on a rock, you live in the past, no longer in flow. If you jump on a stronger, much faster current and get ahead, you enter the future, no longer in flow.
The present is always moving at the perfect pace and continues to unfold by the second. Unfold with it, don’t get stuck or get too ahead. Enjoy it in the now.
The power of NOW is one of my favorite books by Eckhart Tolle. In his book, he perfectly describes this download I received on this days’ meditation. It seems like such a simple concept. Be present. I’m sure you’ve heard it a million times before. Should be a piece of cake right? But yet and still, it rolls off the tongue as easy as it rolls out of our consciousness. After reading this book, I took stock of how present I was in my own life. If you’re anything like me, I discovered that I spent most of my time worrying about the future and blaming my past for current situations instead of appreciating the power of the present moment for the special gift it truly is.
The past perpetuates itself through lack of presence. The quality of your consciousness in this moment is what shapes the future.” – Eckhart Tolle
Being present is where the magic happens. It’s when we get out of our heads and into our hearts. It’s about appreciating the little things that activate A.W.E. in life or what I like to refer to as Adventure, Wonder & Exploration. I’m reminded of that all too familiar, old cliché “Stop and smell the roses” famously adorned on Hallmark cards and on inspirational artwork. There was a time in my life I would’ve rolled my eyes at anyone who said this to me. It was also during a time in my life where A.W.E. rarely existed. See the correlation here? My point is, I know what its like to get caught in the rat race where stopping to do just about anything seems counterproductive. Roses won’t help me with my problems! Smelling them is just a waste of time and time is money! I get it. But I also get that in this mode, there is no life. It’s just a mere, despondent act of going through the motions to get from point A to point B. All it does is perpetuate lack of PRESENCE and consequently, almost always, reveals spiritual deprivation.
There is a oneness that exists for all of us if we make ourselves available for it. That begins with the simple, yet not so simple act of being present. It’s opening up to the endless possibility of what life has to offer in this exact moment. Nothing is ever insignificant, mundane or boring. It’s only if we choose to see it that way. It’s only if we choose to lead with our minds, that’s more often than not, fueled by the ego. The thing is, the ego cannot exist in the present moment, therefore it will continue to keep you from living it.
The ego cannot exist in the present moment, therefore it will continue to keep you from living it.
So LEGGO YOUR EGO and give yourself permission to live your best life! Catch yourself in times you find that you’re checking out of the present moment and bring your awareness back to it. The more you practice this, the easier it will become to enjoy life and start co-creating with the universe. The more you will begin to see synchronicities that help you to align with higher frequencies. The true nature of your being emerges as you see life through a different lens. The little things are not so little as they will often lead to a life of A.W.E.! When you begin to worry, when you start to feel stressed, check in with yourself and see where you’re at. Enter into the beginning of a beautiful friendship with presence and just watch what happens.
