If you have the slightest bit of doubt, your manifestations will not come to fruition. You must believe with every fiber of your being that which you are wanting to manifest. You must FEEL you having them, for you already do.
I remember when The Secret first came out. Everyone in LA was buzzing about it. When I finally popped in the DVD and began to watch it, I didn’t have the same mind blowing thoughts so many had praised it for. My immediate response was “What secret”? I felt as if the principles of the law of attraction were already things I knew…until I realized the REAL secret. The secret is in it’s application.
We all KNOW these principles, but there is a big difference in KNOWING and APPLYING. It’s one thing to visualize something you want, but if you don’t actually believe it, on a deep subconscious level, you will have a hard time manifesting it. The universe will always give you what you want. But first you must be aware of what it is you are actually asking for. Neale Donald Walsh in his book Conversations with God writes,
“You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want. This is because your very request is a statement of lack, and your saying you want a thing only works to produce that precise experience – wanting – in your reality. The correct prayer is therefore never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude. When you thank God in advance for that which you choose to experience in your reality, you, in effect, acknowledge that it is there… in effect. Thankfulness is thus the most powerful statement to God; an affirmation that even before you ask, I have answered. Therefore never supplicate. Appreciate.”
The act of simply “wanting” is not the correct ask. You will only attract more of that feeling of “want” because that is what you are actively manifesting. This is why it has been written in many books, documentaries and blogs like mine, that you must also FEEL that you already have it so you can be grateful for it. You are acknowledging that it is there…in effect; or at least BE IN THE PROCESS of it’s manifestation. Gratefulness is the key. But for most who don’t put this into practice, this is not such an easy thing to do.
The minutiae of daily life accompanied by fear and ego will create a subliminal block that keeps you from believing, which will keep you from manifesting. These principles although easy to understand, are not as easy to put into action. It takes a daily practice of mindfulness, breathing, seeing and believing! Cue “Don’t stop Believing” by Journey ;). Tony Robbins describes this exact process as his morning ritual of “priming“. Which is essentially his ten minute gratitude practice.
- He focuses on something very simple that makes him feel grateful.
- He devotes three minutes to prayer. During this time he “sends energy” to his family, coworkers and others.
- He completes “three to thrive,” taking the final three minutes of his routine to identify three results he’s committed to achieving.
“If you don’t have 10 minutes, you don’t have a life” – Tony Robbins
It makes total sense. I also think the key is cultivating self-assurance. When I was in high school, and it came time to choosing a language, I chose to take French instead of learning Spanish, which would’ve been the more applicable and obvious choice, considering that I live in California. However, I had this romantic dream of one day living in Paris, so it would be best to learn the language when I eventually pick up and move there. Keep in mind, I was a freshman in high school and had never been to Europe. But everyday in French class, I would imagine myself seeing the Eiffel Tower, going into a boulangerie and eating pain au chocolat, wearing my beret and speaking like a local. My point is, I had an unwavering belief, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this was going to happen for me.
Cut to now as an adult, while my dreams of actually moving to Paris have changed, I spend quite a lot of time in France. Twice a year, I am in Cannes and have finally made it to Paris. Did I manifest this? Possibly, maybe, totally! I’m living out the dreams of my adolescence. Though admittedly, this has been a bit too easy to forget sometimes especially when I’m in the throes of my work. I find myself walking down the Boulevard de la Croisette, with a pain au chocolat in my hand, running to my next meeting forgetting about the dream I actualized.
It’s important to take stock of our blessings, and be grateful for the powers we all have inside of us for making our dreams come true, no matter how big or small they are. Developing a gratitude practice is key for successful manifestation. This is what I believe…
- Speak your intention and be clear that it is not a supplication. Always come from a place of abundance and positivity, beyond a shadow of a doubt!
- Embody that feeling with your entire being, (body, mind, soul & spirit) and create an environment conducive to presently LIVE in that state of gratitude for that ask.
- Devote some time to be obsessively grateful, which will then create the energy needed to activate the flow state.
- Being in this flow state, will put you in perfect alignment to attain that which you are wanting to manifest.
And the universe and God or source, will take care of the rest. THIS is the secret: a dedicated application integrated into your daily life. A love devotion. Do this and watch the magic, that is and has always been yours, unfold right before your very eyes.
